On this date in 1469 Niccolò Machiavelli was born. Machiavelli was a historian, philosopher, politician and writer who lived in Florence. He is best remembered for his book The Prince which offers guidance on the realities of political power. The book was written about Cesare Borgia, the son of Pope Alexander VI.
