On this date in 1776 the Illuminati was formed in Bavaria by Adam Weishaupt. It was formed to promote the ideals of the Enlightenment and to fight superstition, prejudice, religious influence over public life, and abuses of state power. Even worse in the eyes of the Roman Catholic Church was their promotion of education for women and gender equality. By 1785 the group was outlawed and disbanded but the conspiracy theories had just started. They were blamed for the rise of International Communism which celebrates May Day every year on the anniversary of the Haymarket Riots in Chicago in 1886. More recently they have been blamed for the attacks of September 11th, 2001 led by Osama bin Laden. On this day in 2011 President Barack Obama announced the death of bin Laden and his burial at sea. The attacks were used by President George W. Bush as an excuse for invading Iraq. On this day in 2003 Bush gave his “Mission Accomplished” speech from the deck of an aircraft carrier. President Bush is believed to be a member of Skull and Bones, a secret student society at Yale with ties to the Illuminati.
